Large bowl on high footring, spreading sides. Decorated in enamel colours with flower garlands, strings of beads, panels, cash motifs, butterflies and scattered flowers on the inside and outside. Inside on the base a bouquet with two horns of plenty and a butterfly. Around the outside of the rim a band with diamond-work, around the foot a band with a meander{ing?J} motif. Large bowls such as this were used for punch, a ladle being used to scoop the drink into glasses. The abundant decoration has been applied with great attention to detail in the style of English Lowestoft and is of unusually high quality for this late period.
