Porcelain, the body of rounded oval form, covered with a white glaze and decorated in underglazed red with three fan tailed carp amongst water weed, with five smaller fish above in underglazed blue, the base decorated with another fan tailed carp in underglazed red amongst underglazed blue weed, the stopper made from carnelian on a black collar.
