Dish on footring, spreading sides, scalloped rim. Kraak porcelain, decorated in underglaze blue. In the centre a cash motif (the traditional Chinese coin with a square hole in the middle), around it five ruyi motifs surrounded by eight sections with whole and half-swastika motifs with a latticework border. The sides undecorated but with eight semicircular panels in low relief with a flower pattern. The reverse is undecorated. This is an early example of the panelling on the sides that characterises kraak porcelain. These panels were impressed with a mould during the potting process. It seems that a similarly impressed and undecorated rim was rarely used on later kraak. As can be expected, it is thinly potted but of good quality.
