Kendi on a short foot with a glazed base. The round sides with a bulbous spout, the cylindrical neck with an overturned rim. Decorated in iron-red and blue, green, and yellow enamels. On the sides a landscape with a terrace, rocks, lotus, chrysanthemum and clouds. The shoulder with a lappet border and bands, the neck with tulip motifs. The rim with petals and the spout with cloud shapes.
This kendi is well-painted in bright colours with a continuous landscape scene, a design often found on early enameled kendis. A related example is in the Ashmolean Museum. Kendis in the early enamelled palette are not uncommon in Dutch collections. This kendi was obtained in Indonesia.
