Kendi on a short foot with a sandy, glazed base. The globular body and the mammiform spout ribbed. The short neck with a disk-shaped rim. Covered overall with a brown glaze, the shoulder with floral sprays in white slip.
This kendi is an example of Zhangzhou slip-decorated wares. The ribbing on the spout and body are characteristic as is the grit in the glaze of the base. The disk shape of the rim is typical of mid 17th century kendis. It was acquired in Indonesia.
