Pomegranate panels appear on closed forms of Kraak porcelain as of c. 1590. Flying horses were popular motifs on this type of porcelain and are depicted mostly on bowls, pear-shaped bottles and kendis. They are also part of the decorative scheme on kendis with straight panelling made in Safavid Persia. This kendi was collected in Indonesia.
