Dish of saucer shape with lobed sides and rim, on a foot ring. The base with a lotus flower in a double ring. In the centre a flower basket with various flowers surrounded by twelve petal panels with flower sprays reserved on various diapers. The back with two fruit sprays and one flower spray.
The decoration of this dish show a somewhat formal design characteristic of the time on such large dishes. Destined for the Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern market the focus of decoration on these dishes is on floral and plant design. Flower baskets figure prominently on Kangxi export wares, also on those of the famille verte palette. The appearance of this design on Delftware and Japanese export wares for the Dutch market attests to its popularity in Holland. Dishes of this type are in several Dutch collections. They are in the Topkapi Saray in Istanbul, one is in the Musée national Adrien Dubouché in Limoges. This dish was collected in Indonesia.
