London 1989, pl. 76 |  | | Description | | Small Chinese porcelain dish or plate on a footring, with steep, curved sides and a sloping rim with a scalloped edge. Decorated in underglaze blue. In the centre several overlapping symbols, including two scrolls, a fan and a flywhisk. The sides and rim are divided into six fan-shaped panels, separated by narrow panels. The fan-shaped panels with a scalloped medallion containing a flower motif or symbols such as books, scrolls, ruyi sceptres, etc. The narrow panels with a small, lozenge-shaped ornament surrounded by a group of dots. On the reverse six scalloped panels with a group of dots, separated by several vertical lines. Much kiln-sand adhering to the base and footring.
